Oh what difference does it make what color your walking shoes are? Well, if you are a professional woman who walks to work or walks during her lunch hour, you are not going to want to wear your old white athletic shoes with a nice suit or coat. You want something comfortable but it should look nice with your clothes. There are many walking shoes available that don’t even look like athletic shoes. Some of them come in loafer and lace up styles that look like a regular shoe. They also come in colors other than white. Brown walking shoes will look nice with any neutral outfit. You can find them in suede or leather.

While we’re talking about alternative colors in walking shoes; the desire for something other than white is not limited to women. Men want a comfortable shoe as well as an attractive one. Anyone who has a job in retail spends the majority of their day walking so a good looking comfortable shoe is something they will love. Most department stores would not want you to wear a white athletic shoe with your dress clothing. Walking shoes come in black or brown, so you’ll look nice and you’ll be comfortable. I have a friend who works in the office of a hospital. They are required to wear shoes with a non slip sole, but they cannot wear white, the shoes must be black. Restaurant workers also need good walking shoes, but very often they need to be black as well.

You can color coordinate all you want. I found a pair that had interchangeable color blocks that you could put in one area of the shoe so you could match whatever you were wearing. Pink is my favorite color so I would definitely wear pink walking shoes. In fact I have pair of pink sneakers in my closet right now. Listen up all you Mary Kay reps. walking shoes come in pink.

Almost all brands of walking shoes come in different colors today, so pick up something other than white. You can use them in a lot of ways you never thought about, especially if they are neutral colors like black or brown.
